Is the PlayStation wired to the router or wireless? If wireless then run an ethernet cable to the PlayStation, if you cannot do this then an alternative is to use ethernet over powerline adapters, eg: homeplugs.

Hi there, no it is wireless but surely the point of paying for 500mbs would be that you could run things without the cable? I moved to sky recently and so far I am regretting it.

At higher speeds special wireless routers are needed with the wireless client equipment that supports the wireless standard WiFi 6E or WiFI 7 standard for higher speeds and low latency, unfortunately, the PlayStation PS5 is only WiFi 5. But the cheaper solution is to run an ethernet cable...

Re: My internet is slow

So I am down to the options of either move the router and have someone come out to reconnect the socket or use an Ethernet cable running from downstairs to upstairs?

Correct, or use ethernet HomePlugs that use the wired mains circuitry to send ethernet signals down, this will only need a HomePlug plugging in each side one upstairs and one downstairs and an ethernet cable running the short distance on each side to a HomePlug.
