My emails are not coming through on my aol account

My emails are not downloading on my iPhone or my iPad from my aol account I have tried again at my sisters who is with another provider and they came through straight away

Try changing your broadband shield settings.

Hi there I have an error (posix 96) coming up when I try to retrieve my emails...any help with this would be appreciated
