More than One Sky account at the same address

I am a landlord and have a house in London divided into three self cantained apartments. One of my existing tenants has Sky Braodband, a new tenant is trying to have a sky accout as well but is being told that you cannot have more than one sky account at the same address?

This seemes totaly ilogical to me and i need to know the reason. This is a house in multipal ocupation and my tenets want seporate internet accouts.

Can somene please exsptain why Sky is saying that the accouts have to have thire own seporate address?

Re: More than One Sky account at the same address

@Wrovert Has the home been registered as three seperate addresses, if not then sky are correct one address and one account, you can call it flat 31 A,B and C but if not official addresses then will not work!

Do the flat's each have there own supplied line to them currently as either phone or fibre connections? You may find the link below for what OR consider!

Openreach amended ORDI Process for address correction

Use the Address checker link below and run it against each one to see if all 3 are recognised as unique.

Re: More than One Sky account at the same address

Priviously all three tenants had broadband but with diferent companies. two had Talk Talk and one Sky. So with Sky a HMO can not have seporate Broadband connections? For which reason do they make this distinction?

@Wrovert See above, the address database, sky when they look if for instance they can only see the one then that is it! Easy to test with another ISP danger is if they all use the same database, then all 3 get cancelled and that becomes a nightmare, happened recently someone applied, got sky and sky applied it to all 3 flats, cancelled everyones connection, and think 2 where BT, boy did it become a nightmare and maybe still is!!!!

Re: More than One Sky account at the same address

I cheaked on the BT site which you atached the link fort

The adress is there and so are 4 lines and they are marked as could be new conections, Marked as Flat 1 Flat 3 and Ground floor Shop.

The only fully active one listed is 451 the property number. Could this be the problem. they are at the exchange but not activated?

Re: More than One Sky account at the same address

@Wrovert That would sound like the issue, if sky or any ISP using the OR database lookup cannot see individual property and line then it's a one and only one connection to it!

@Wrovert

For an order to be successful, each separate address must be on the Royal Mail Postcode Address File master database, then the BT Wholesale platform and finally an ISP sales database, without any contradictions.

It appears that Sky only refreshes their platform periodically (perhaps monthly) and so recent changes may not be reflected yet.

Unfortunately it's also possible for subdivision to introduce errors which require manual intervention.

Correct the issue is only 2 Flats show and a Ground Floor shop, if the database Sky use only shows 451 then it will be an issue, Royal Mail needs to show the 3 Flats seperately also.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
