Line speed capped - restart line testing?

After the Sky issue a few days ago whereby my router rebooted several times each night to install firmware, the DLM system thought my  line had an issue and my downstream speed has been reduced by 10 meg and my upstream by 5 meg. I usually get 55/20.

I guess the system will recognise the recovery and restart line testing eventually, but how long will this take, and can a Sky agent restart it manually?

@hgwv while Sky can ask for a reset they normally dont do so unless the DLM does not start to recover on its own Each night if the line errors allow it the system should decrease the noise margin in steps increasing the speed this typically takes around a week. You can follow this yourself if you have a black Sky hub as the connection stats show the downstream noise margin which should be between 3dB to 6dB when speds are at their maximum see Sky Hub statistics

@Chrisee thanks, I used to request manual DLM resets on my previous ISPs but that seems to be a thing of the past now. My last reboot was over 3 days ago, which is when the firmware update issue was fixed, so I suppose I'll just have to be more patient...

@hgwv Better to ride this one out, sky have OR do the DLM reset and it's a normal jump back to full speed after the 24hr period but keep an eye on the service checker also for your 30 day history, should recover fine by itself, and you know what to do if it does not!
