Lag
My internet has been perfect all week whilst gaming i average about 10-20 ping daily zero issues but last week it started spiking for about a week then this weeks been fine but today its been spiking up to 50 sometimes even 400 ping I've reset the router on both occasions and it doesn't seem to do much i would love to know why the test comes back with everything looks good im paying like 60 quid a month for really fast internet and a good connection and then just get these results i want help with the issue either via technician or a entirely new router

Re: Lag
@Skylags11 you are not talking to Sky by posting on the forum but is unlikely a new hub will do anything. While it is possible that the lag is being caused by a line fault it is far more likely to be an issue in your home network. You dont mention whst device you are using or how it is networked if you are using WiFi that is the most common cause of lag so must be excluded first. Wifi interference is the usual culprit. Hopefully though as a keen gamer you use direct ethernet connections.
If you can exclude thst next exclude any fsctorcwith multiple users of the network. Sky hubs like most routers have no QOS system to prioritise gaming traffic. If you suspect that maybe an issue then buying a third party router with QOS is an option.
If you can exclude both of those causes set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (see https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality) as that will check the line to see if there is a problem with your line but be warned neither Sky nor more importantly Openreach givecany guarantees on latency.

Re: Lag
As @Chrisee indicates, while ISPs typically 'guarantee'* a download speed, they promise nothing about latency.
*which is actually a guarantee of early exit without penalty if the speed cannot be delivered.
