LAN speed settings
The speed I get via LAN/ethernet is max 100Mbps. The cable I use is cat 5e, the ethernet card in my PC supports up to 2.5Gbps. WiFi speeds are up to 500Mbps.
I have been unable to change or even find how to adjust the speed settings in the router. Can anyone help please?
The hub is SR213.

Re: LAN speed settings
@Rekma by default the SR213 Sky hub has gigabit Ethernet ports so assuming youare using a direct Cat5e cable from the hub to the PC you should see speeds up to 900Mb/s. While the port maybe 2.5Gb/s capabable check that the network set up is correct. Assuming your PC is running windows this page should help https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/fix-ethernet-connection-problems-in-windows-2311254e-cab...
Any device like a switch or powerline adapaters etc in the chain can impact the speed as can a damaged cable as you need all 8 cores connected for Gigabit speeds but only 4 for 100Mb/s speeds.

Re: LAN speed settings
@Rekma You need to take a look at what your PC Nic has synced at to the hub, choices would be 10/100/1000/2500 Mb/s but there in the properties you maty see what, the Hub is 1Gb/s if you have not adjusted it, so ideal 1000/1000 would be the rate, Ethernet port back off the hub has sync indicator lights, LHS one (( Orange = 100Mb/s and Green = 1Gb/s speeds ))!

Re: LAN speed settings
In pc ethernet adapter setting speed adjusted as 1Gbps. In the hub I don't see any lights, only one in the front middle, none anywhere else.

Re: LAN speed settings
@Rekma The sky Max hub ethernet connection ports must have no lights then, so you will need to look at properties on the PC to see what is going on! You may have to connect two devices bt Ethernet and direct transferr file between both to see that your Ethernet ports are working fine, would suspect your PC Ethernet port to start with!

Re: LAN speed settings
Nevermind, I suspect Sky router restricts LAN to 100Mbps but there is no settings to adjust in the router.
I have checked the cat 5e cable in a different pc and network and is fine.
I have used a different router with this cable and it works as it should.
So definitely it is my Sky router that either caps the speed on ethernet ports or is faulty (WiFi works as it should though).

Re: LAN speed settings
@Rekma There is a setting in the sky SR203 hub for fast Ethernet operation only, but if you have NOT set it that way then it should all be on Gb/s Nic Ethernet!
The quickest way if you have not got anything set on the sky hub is to hold the reset for 30 seconds and watching the front power light change state then release and let the hub apply all the default settings!

Re: LAN speed settings
Thanks for your help, but just got a message from sky:
Regarding your router, the model SR213 does have limitations on LAN port speeds, which might be causing the issue you're experiencing.
So, thanks again, it can't be helped.

Re: LAN speed settings
@Rekma What, not a lot to go on with that information that sky have supplied to you, are they doing anything to address the issue that they are suggesting, i for one would not be putting up with that!
