Issues setting up house lights

I have just got Sky internet and I can operate my house cameras via the internet but not my house lights. On the instructions for the lights it states that the rooter must be 2.5GHz and not 5GHz.

when the rooter arrives what is it set for and how do I change it to 2.5 GHz.

I have tried to contact Sky but can't it said it does not recognise my email address.

@Electric Sky dont use email for customer support the chat option is very popular so is often overloaded. However your issue is pretty simple to sort.

All Sky hubs have dualband WiFi using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with a single SSID. Most devices can connect to that even if they only usecthe 2.4GHz bands to communicate. Some like your lights cant. There is a workround for the white Sky hubs which is fairly easy. In the My Sky app there is a section called Product Settings click on that chise the Sky Max hub link and then the Advanced Settings and lastly Disable WiFi ignore the warnings then click ti dusable the 5GHz bands. Once the hub has restarted connect your lights. Then turn the 5GHz bands back on and the lights should stay connected.

If you have a black hub post again as the stepsxare different.

Re: Can you contact customer service by email or live chat?

Thanks for your help and I managed to change rooter to 2.4Ghz

I think I need a Wi-Fi  Booster as I am getting a pure signal.

I have been trying to contact City Fibre and they informed me to contact Sky as there is a cover missing from the hole over the cable hole going into my bed room , which I would be very happy to install my self if it was posted to me . I was on the phone for 1hour and did not get anyone.

it would have been good to have got Sky customer help.
