Issues installing apps

I have a new Android phone and I'm having issues installing some apps. I have seen the previous posts saying that the issue has been sorted however it seems it has not. When using Sky broadband the apps do not install however when I use mobile data or a free VPN it works fine. I have tried to contact Sky but as usual you just go around in circles and get frustrated.

What apps do not install and what is happening ?

Are you using a VPN when connected to your Wifi ?

Re: Issues installing apps

Ok so it was several apps most notably sky news and revolut. They would start to download then stopped coming up with 'cannot install --- app'. This was solely on sky WiFi. I cleared the cache and data, updated the programs etc as stated on the forums still the same. One of the forums mentioned the use of a VPN and lo and behold it worked. That got me thinking so I switched off WiFi and VPN and downloaded through data and that worked to. So I'm sure the problem is at Sky's end. I'm all sorted now but I think Sky needs to look at the issue again.

Re: Issues installing apps

I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything, including:

- Resetting the hub by holding the reset button until the lights blink and it reboots.
- Resetting through 192.168.0.1 (Admin > Maintenance > Backup Settings > Revert to Factory Settings).
- Clearing cache, restarting all devices, and disabling Sky Shield.

Nothing has worked. But if I use a VPN or switch to mobile data, everything works fine apps install normally, and YouTube runs smoothly.

Sky said they escalated my case, but in the end, they ruled out any issues on their side. I’ve seen others reporting the same problem since January.

Has anyone managed to fix this?

Re: Issues installing apps

I fixed it the same way as you, VPN or switching to data. I have also tried it on Virgin internet and it works there to. The fault is obviously at the Sky end and they are dodging it.
