Re: Is Sky Internet Down Forest Hill Area
I appreciate you taking the time to respond and explain further but the point I was trying to make is that for a couple of hours when checking the status of the line, the checker was telling us that there was no problem. It's supposed to check in real time but wasn't acknowledging a problem

Re: Is Sky Internet Down Forest Hill Area
I understand that Sky don't have control, or often foreknowledge, over Openreach's (and others) maintenance and infrastructure projects, but the Sky service checker could, reasonably simply have an information tooltip that activates if service is down between 12am-5am indicating "possible maintenance outage". This doesn't have to be anything more than a change to the html/js on the server side on a time based contingency (i.e. "if outage between 12am-5am, display "possible maintenance check back in the morning").
Instead, Sky tried to make me book an engineer visit to "fix my service", which obviously isn't required given this was a somewhat predictable set of circumstances (see reply 4 on this thread). It's lazy implementation and makes having a service checker in the first place less useful. The solution to this isn't complex and is entirely possible within Sky's own internal systems
