Internet outage.

Wouldn't it be nice if sky could keep customers up to date with Internet outages.  Most other services like electric, gas and water sends emails out with updates.  10 hours without Internet or TV and nothing.

Sky sometimes update their Twitter pages on known large outages. It may still be worth contacting Sky yourself so see this link which outlines auto compensation for when there is a total loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full working days from when you first report the fault to Sky, you will become eligible for it, It’s applied 30 days after the fault has been repaired and will come in the form of a credit appearing on your account.

Because broadband is currently not seen as an essential service like Electric, Gas & Water. Broadband is also much more susceptible to the occasional outage from maintenance or minor faults. You'll find very few ISPs proactively contact customers about internet outages because they are often fixed before its noticed or its part of scheduled Openreach maintenance.
