Internet only working in living room

Internet only working in one room. 

when my children are upstairs in bedroom away from the router they struggle to get internet. 

internet should work the same in every room of the house

No ISP will promise this because its sometimes impossible to achieve in complex setups, especially for a budget domestic ISP like Sky. 

If you have the Sky boost or Sky WiFi Max addon packs Sky will provide you with boosters to try and increase coverage around your home but they wont guarantee anything.
