Wifi update.
There wasnt an Alert light on my system when I went to disarm it this morning. BUT when I checked the history logs it had
Comm Fault; Internal Wifi at 02:45:38
and then
Comm Restored Internal Wifi at 02:47:00
so an outage of just over a minute.
Things seem to happen at 02:45 in the morning.
lll keep on monitoring the situation.
Cheers Moffet

I just checked the sky router logs and it was rebooted at that time. First reboot for a long time. Interesting.

2023 and the same issue, internet drops for most of the night every night for months now. I have cancelled my subscription as nothing seems to work until the morning.

I have been having the same nightly disconnections, I don't use the sky q hot spots, and actually disabled the sky wifi in the sky hub and all the sky q boxes and using a mesh system and still getting the nightly outage which I know as my baby monitor sends me a notification that internet connection was lost.
When I run a ipv test when this was out, and from that I can see ipv 4 was inactive, where ipv6 was operating which was why frustratingly some websites responded, and others didn't.
Enough is enough, and have cancelled my broadband contract with sky slightly early, as I've had nothing but problems since joining, I will be glad to see the back of their permanent sky wifi appearance even when disabled in sky hub, the lack of bridge modem mode, attempt at a third party modem but endless challenges with connection methods DHCP option 61 which inevitably forced the use the sky hub as router and my mesh WiFi in ap mode to avoid a double NAT.
I will attempt to report back in a few weeks whether things have changed with the new ISP 🤞

The apparent loss of just IP4 routing while IP6 remains live is the first I have seen reported. As you are switching ISPs it is pointless offering suggestions of how to deal with your other points except to point out that many thousands of Sky customers use third party routers as many manufacturers support the DHCP v4 Option 61 requirement. Sky Q is now an old product which does have issues with third party wifi which are very unlikely to be changed.
If your drops are related to the line from the exchange rather than Sky's backhaul as most are then they will move with you if your new service useing the same line. Every network operator has to maintain their networks which is done overnight no ISP guarantees 24/7 operation for that reason.
