Every time I download a game from steam my internet speeds goes from 900mb download to nothing where speed tests won't even work and all pages run slow. The only thing I have found that fixes this is unpluging the power from the hub for 10 min and restarting. Getting sick of doing this.
Anyone know a solution?
My PC is running ethernet and yes I have try different cables. This effects every device on ethernet or wifi.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIs the connection at the expected speed during the download (keeping in mind that by default Steam displays MBs rather than Mbs)?

The just barely runs. To slow for speed testing and any webpage takes up to a minute to open

I'm having the same issue, tried downloading a steam game and it starts off as it should but then everything drops, supposed to be getting 500 but I cant figure out if it's a steam/sky or pc issue, ethernet cable aswell. The connection jumps back up for a bit but then it's like it realises it's a heavy download and stops again. Everything else works fine, but as soon as i start a steam download it just hates it and everything goes to ****

I guess Sky hates people using steam. This never happened when i have BT with the same speed.

I was with TalkTalk before and it was really slow speed but it never dropped like it does with Sky it would just take an extra hour or 2, i'm not really sure what to do about it, i've checked steam and i dont have a limiter on for bandwidth so other than ringing Sky i cant see any other fix.

I downloaded a Steam game 2 days ago (27/06/2023) with no issues on my 150Mbps connection so unless something has changed in between I can't see it being at Steams end.

Have you tried https://www.sky.com/servicechecker after downloading a game?
