We are switching from Virgin to Sky. Our installation date was scheduled for Dec 20th, but this morning I've received a message from Openreach saying that this has been moved into the new year (no reason was given and I've not received any communication from Sky themselves, only direct from Openreach).
I understand there's not much I can do about this, but just want to confirm that my existing provider (Virgin) will be notified of this change, and my existing Internet will no longer be disconnected on the 20th Dec? I would ask Virgin myself but the switch has been handled entirely by Sky so I would expect them to deal with it.
Thanks for any input or advice on this.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more
In theory, yes, but perhaps worth noting that Virgin has only been included in the expanded one touch switch system for around three months and there are undoubtedly still bugs to be worked out.

Thanks @TimmyBGood - I recall getting the Sky site to find my Virgin details in the first place was a pain, that explains a lot!
What is going to be my best bet to get this confirmed definitively? Do I need to call Sky or are there staff members on this forum who could check?
I work from home so can't be without Internet, and so will need to make alternative arrangements ASAP if necessary.
