@Tinalally  What exactly does this email say is it like this one?

"At Sky we are always looking to bring the latest innovative technology to our customers. As we do this, we’re always making improvements to our infrastructure to enhance both its reliability and performance.

In 2022, the UK government published a new security framework to make the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure more resilient.

In line with government guidance, we wanted to let you know while your hub continues to keep you connected to the internet, it will stop receiving service and security updates on the 31 December 2025. To review your options, including how to update or change your hub, visit our portal here. You’ll need to have your Sky ID and password ready to log in."

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Tinalally

Sky is trying to remove Q Hubs (and all earlier models) from use because these don't meet new UK regulations for such devices: specifically they have weak fixed local administrator credentials and so pose a (theoretical) risk to national infrastructure.  Every other ISP with similar vintage hardware is obliged to do the same thing.

This isn't directly to do with 'watching' things.

It's unclear at this time if Sky is intending to actually block old Hubs from functioning for internet delivery: that seems distinctly problematic but may ultimately be necessary if the Government is actually serious (I'd note the law was passed by the previous administration).

Simplest thing is to agree to the swap.
