I upgraded my broadband package to the Full Fibre 900Mb service from a copper connection which was only giving 20Mb at best. The new speeds were amazing at a consistent 800-900Mb to all connections.
The router was already the SR203 which had all 4 ethernet connections useing Cat 6 cables to 3 computers and a Sky Q box. This particular box was a couple of years old and we seemed to be getting quite regular disconnections and poor wi-fi speeds so Sky agreed a replacement unit. The new unit as been muh more stable.
The Sky Q box was recommended by Sky to be connected by Ethernet cable as i had been having issues with the Sky Go app on the computer and the technician said that the Q box would definitely give a more solid connection using Ethernet and so we switched off the wi-fi connection.
The problem now is that the fibre connection uses one of the ethernet connections so i bought the TP-Link switch to expand the number of connections so i could also include te TV as well.
So connected the TP switch and as soon as i had more than 1 extra connection, the speeds dropped dramatically, with each new connection reducing the speed by half.
After a protracted email chain to TP-Link, they sent out a replacement unit, but this has still the same issue.
Does anyone else have this as an issue and if so, is there any other options to increase the speeds

I have since received another TP-Link switch which is performing far better. I now have a much better minimum speed so there must have been a fault in the previous unit. So if anyone has a similar issue then contact TP-Link and get a replacement.

Re: Increasing Ethernet Connections using TP-Link 5 Port Gigabit Switch
Its quite common for Sky Q boxes that are connected via ethernet to slow the whole network down as they create a sort of 'loop' which in itself wouldnt be the end of the world except they only have 100mbps ethernet interfaces so suddenly your whole network is limited to 100mbps.
