Hi
I'd like to set my Sky Wifi up so guests can use it, but not have access to my admin account. Is this possible? I've logged into my router settings but can't see where to do it.
Thanks

It's not possible with Sky's hub.
The simplest solution would be to get a wireless access point and connect it to the hub because they usually have that sort of option.

Which Wireless Access Point device would you recommend to connect?
A Guest Network option should be a priority feature for the product manager. I want to use it to manage my IOT devices and keep them isolated from my main network, and also to give guests wifi.

I'm not aware of any major UK ISP which offers that as a facility on their own router: realistically it's a very niche requirement in a domestic setting.
At work I use Ubiquiti APs with one of their Cloud Key Gen2 controllers to manage such things.

Virgin have for years, and it's a major shortcoming of sky not too I agree for the same reason as the OP..
Either that or support of vlans.. as adding an ap does t solve the issue without vlan support, the ap just puts the guest traffic back onto the main network at the sky router.

Seems this a standard request and basic security measure which should be available i.e. in order to segregate IoT devices from the main network and restrict their functionality/access privileges. I used to use google devices to do this but struggled to set them up on the latest router.
If anyone has successfully managed to do this i'd love to hear how.

I disagree, do you really think the average punter knows enough/cares enough to think that they need to put their smart bulb or smart plug on a guest network for security reasons? If you are looking to segregate IoT devices then you'd likely benefit from a 3rd party router anyway not the cheap router supplied by your ISP.

Errrr Yes!
Given that every man and his dog wants cheap cctv from China with security vulnerabilities galore, Yes I do think they would like to easily setup a VLAN don't you think?

No: if they were vaguely aware that the biggest security issue was purchasing such kit in the first place, they might think otherwise.

I'm giving up. The quality of service (too much jitter) and the lack of security means I have given notice and switched to a fibre to the property. New modum will allow guest network and a cyber-secure set up

I think they will be well aware that cctv or other devices could have security flaws so I can't see an issue with giving better options that allow them to minimize risk even making that vlan with no internet access if that's what they want. You can't beat a bit of flexibility and also helping others with solutions. Negativity leads to: vote with your feet, which is what the op has done. Good on him. 🙂

Majority of my extended family have CCTV, If I asked them if they knew what a VLAN was they'd look at me like a dog trying to understand when you talk to it. If I asked them what they'd use a guest WiFi network for they'd tell me for guests phones when they visit.
You really do have high faith in the general population and I suppose I applaud your optimisim 🤣

I applaud your lack of optimisim and family genetics 🙂
