How to get a SNR reset
Hi all,
Been having constant issues with our connection. I put it down to the distance we are from the cabinet, however our neighbours next door who are also with Sky have no issues so likely just our copper that's bad.
Anyway we have a openreach engineer coming out at least every two weeks. They do a reverse noise test which I am told basically pushes the signal back in the reverse direction and it resolved our issues. They have looked for faults elsewhere and done a few repairs at times but nothing has been more than temporary.
The last engineer who came out suggested a few things - one of which requesting a Sound to noise ratio reset. I have phoned sky broadband but the lady at the call centre hadn't got a clue what I was talking about and told me she didn't know how to pass me on to any higher level (2nd/3rd line).
Does anyone have any ideas? I have a openreach engineer coming out Wednesday for their weekly call out but ideally if we could try this it would save us time and save sky the cost of getting a openreach engineer to come out.
Cheers

Re: How to get a SNR reset
Its a dlm reset and is done by openreach when sky notifies them of a broadband fault
Could you post your hub stats
Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21
If I get it right mark as answered

Doesnt give much away on the issue. The stat page before it had more info but I don't know if that would be of any use?

Aye, the stats just show that there is no internet connection whatsoever.
How often does this drop happen. ? What speed should you get?
What speed have you been getting?
Could you the stats again when the internet light is green

Re: How to get a SNR reset
We get about 16-17mb on a good day. We are on old lines with no foreseeable fibre upgrade anytime soon.
This happens at least once every month, and it's always resolved by them plugging their maxtester units in and doing a test. I refuse to pay £500+ for this unit so I can clear the line myself.
Is there any numbers I can call to get straight through to a engineer who could do the neccesary checks as opposed to a Indian call centre?
