How can Sky offer such high speeds in my area?
I am currently with BT getting a maximum of 40mbps download and 8mbps upload, which as a Graphic Designer it's terrible. However it is the only package they offer us as my area only has access to FTTC (according to OpenReach). To my understanding these speeds are all you can get with FTTC. But after checking Sky they are offering me speeds of over 900mbps. It seems too good to be true. How is this possible or is it a 'these are speeds you can get in the future when full fibre is installed.' I am not well knowledged about interent. Any help is appreiciated!

Re: How can Sky offer such high speeds in my area?
Sky has recently started provisioning customers on CityFibre optical circuits as an alternative to the national Openreach network: BT doesn't do this.
You can look up CityFibre availability here:

@TimmyBGood
Does this mean the speeds stated are true? Would i be better of going from OpenReach to CityFibre? And by chance would there be any hidden fees to install new cables or anything, fibre etc?
All good if you don't know, i appriecite the help!

Re: How can Sky offer such high speeds in my area?
No additional fees, and potentially much higher speeds than are offered on the Openreach network (including hugely better upload speed)
The possible downside is that Sky support isn't experienced with CityFibre issues.
