Hosting dedicated server

Hi all.

Please would someone help me with what I believe is potentally a hub related issue.

I have set up a dedicated gaming server using SteamCMD which can been seen externally, I can access it locally. (Via Xbox and separate pc) However when a third party attempts to access the 'game', it gives "connection timed out" Ive used Port forwarding test tools to which all seem to indicate that the ports are still not functioning inbound 🤔

  • I have Port forwarded the applicable ports on the Sky Hub (Using the app)
  • I have set up inbound and outbound defender firewall protocols
  • I made the server ip Static
  • Ive tried turning off all firewalls, both PC and Router
  • Ran the server IP in DMZ

Is there anything Ive missed or can additionally check at my end.

Thanks for reading

@W00K1E What hub are you using, and if not so get the firewalls turned back on!

The Router model is the SR213. I only disengaged the firewalls to try and eliminate them as the potential issue.

@W00K1E So using the sky Max you now have to contend with the MAP-T version of control, which is effectivly a sooped up CGNAT and then trying to make port fwd work. Not sure if uPnP is functional on that hub, but take a look, sure it's all done through the stupid mobile app.

@JimM1

The App indicates that all the ports I have added are indeed open, however reading about MAP-T (Thanks for that deep rabbit hole 🤕) I took from it that because MAP-T is basiclly sharing the External IP with other Sky customers, that the Port allocation is also shared. I'm pretty vauge on this is getting behond my limited knowlegde base. In short, that this makes it very difficult for inbound information to identify my server?

@W00K1E Also have a look around this link but may be easier to request on the pinned post above although there are two now.
