Hive connection

Discussion after duscussion regarding Hive not connecting to Sky router and not a word from Sky. They didn't mention this when asking for my business. If anybody is thinking about switching to Sky and has a Hive, beware.

Whilst there are threads descibing problems with Hive and Sky Broadband I suspect there are many more who don't.

 

I can safely say that I have had no issues at all. I have the black Sky Broadband Router/Hub with Fibre 150 so wonder if there is any pattern to the customers who encounter issues?

Not good !

 

Wondering if newer Hive Hubs are different? Ours is at least 7 years old and worked faultlessly with TalkTalk for most of that, and then also Sky when we moved to them in August this year.

 

I can probably recount 2 or 3 times over these years where the phone app reported a problem but following the help instructions online got the connection reset by Hive and fixed.

 

Not sure what else to recommend as I'm sure you've spoken to Hive already.

I was with BT before and never had a problem but I'm completely stumped.

Do Hive have any diagnostics they can run as other than using the "fix problem" button on the phone App I have never needed to contact them?

I spoke to very helpfull girl at Sky last night and it seems it's a very complicated technical solution to even try to resolve the Hive problem

I have recently had this frustrating problem after Sky installed Fibre broadband. My lovely Hive system stopped working and Sky admitted there were known issues with Hive connections.  After much back and forth Sky suggested a new router which totally fixed the problem. After installing the new router myself the Hive receiver automatically connected to the new router but I did have to go through the Hive steps of getting the thermostat to connect. I contacted Hive support by phone and after 10 minutes the lovely woman I spoke to had it all up and running again on my Hive app. Sky did try but they need to train their engineers and customer service advisors on this issue. They're selling their products knowing there are serious issues with Hive customers
