Help Router and phone issue

Hi new here, please be gentle, new router today but still connecting to an old routers I'd, and also house phone won't work either, they keep saying check phone line

Hiya highlander, sorry for the wait, I did click post lol, anyway joined today had a text saying broadband was ready

Your original post is not clear. You say your still using your old router. From who? Have you plugged your Sky router in?

New router from sky, and have that one in, but it's not even showing up to connect to it, it's connecting to old router ip

If it went live only today it can take up until midnight for the connection to actually work so I'd wait a bit longer.

As for your devices still connecting to your old hub, if you have boosters or Sky Q you need to reset those and connect them to your new hub for the new name to apply.

@Leo13 Can you just explain why you got new router, was old faulty, did you upgrade or change the package, new 18 month contract?

To me it's weird as old router is off and set aside, I keep looking at phone but dead as a doorknob so to speak, thanks for your replies

Likely because you have either Sky boosters, Sky Q or 3rd party extenders using the old hubs SSID. You need to reset them and connect them to your new hub

Hi Jim, me and my partner split up and he has moved out and it was all in his name, now new contract new router all in my name, new router is on old one is set aside, had a text saying sky broadband is ready

Sky live with sky puck, new router when I do search is not coming up with the WiFi name of new router

I got it fixed, well partly lol, router I reset, so that came up with the proper information. Phone still the same but I will chase that up tomorrow, thanks for the help though 😉
