Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
@MrRichAllen1976 where a Openreach cabinet is full when the previous tenant moves out their connection will be assigned to the first person on the waiting list it cannot be transferred to you unfortunately. Sky's policy is not to use the waiting list so is why they cannot accept your home move request nothing you can do about that. It is worth asking Sky to release you from contract if you are moving to an address where they cannot offer a service.
However if the previous tenant has TAlkTalk full fibre it could be the address has a City Fibre connection which is not something Sky have used up until now but are planning to do so soon. Use this checker https://cityfibre.com/homes to see if City Fibre does cover your new address if thry do post again.

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
Nobody uses the "waiting list" now, not even BT retail/wholesale. It never worked properly anyway.
Its simply "fastest finger first" - whoever gets an order in first once there's spare capacity gets the service.
BT won't be installing any extra capacity for VDSL2/g.Fast so its likely to be a VERY long wait - potentially years before service is available.

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
I've spoken to CS twice today, [removed]
They sent me an email to tell me an Engineer was coming between 12 and 17.00 tomorrow, so I'm back on the phone to query that, they've cancelled the Engineer and didn't understand when I queried why they booked the Engineer in the first place?

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
@JimM1 That's it.
I've been ringing since last week, they don't understand what I am trying to ask for, they sent me an email earlier about the Engineer between 12 and 17.00 tomorrow, so I'm back on the phone to query why they're sending a non required Engineer, they don't understand but have cancelled the Engineer!

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
@MrRichAllen1976 The only thing i can say to you would be go read all the posting's from the start to the end. Sky may have wanted to send the engineer to see what could be done, and you have just squashed that option.

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
@MrRichAllen1976 Let me just say, there is absolutely NO guarantee with what you posted so far to any specific service on that address.
It's a sold out, if OR do not mess with it you need to hope an pray that happens, there will be queue a mile long waiting to get faster broadband, so as soon as the Talk Talk customer gets pulled then that line may disappear in an instant... And then it's the saying up the creek without a paddle.

Re: Having problems getting Sky Fibre in High Green, Sheffield
I have had a read of the thread and this is what I think....
1. You want to do a home move with Sky to your new address, however Sky wont accept the request because your local FTTC cabinet is full
2. The current resident has TalkTalk FTTC (not full fibre)
The problem here is that the slot that the current resident is taking up in the cabinet wont become 'free' until they have fully completed their 'home move' or cancellation of the broadband. Only then would your cabinet likely become 'avaliable' for order as it would have one free slot.
I would say you have two choices here:
1. Have Sky release you from contract because they can't provide service at your new address. Then you can source another ISP who may be able to provide a better service
2. Complete your home move with Sky by downgrading to ADSL broadband (Up to 15mbps in your area by the looks of it). Then hope that you can snag an upgrade to FTTC as soon as your cabinet opens back up when the current residence ceases their service.
