Half speed

Hi, I am on sky fibre, 145MB. I only get around 80MB on speed tests. I've been with sky about 4 months.

I've tried rebooting the router but still similar speeds. Service checker confirms I'm getting 145MB to the hub. I can get 1GB in my area.

Is this normal and is there a fix?

Thanks

@Thevoid when you are testing your speed are you doing this with only 1 device attached to the router by ethernet

Re: Half speed

Hi, I am having the same issue, I have 500Gbs fibre, but I am only getting about 270Gbs max and that is if I disconnect everything and just run a speed test plugged into the router with an ethernet cable and nothing else running. I've been looking and even though they say there is a 400Gbs guarantee there doesn't seem to be a place to complain.

Please can you post your router stats so the forum can advise on any issues. This link explains how to do that https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#

Re: Half speed

Hi,

Yes I meant mbs not gbs, however, after not getting full speed from the skybox and with limitations to a mesh network I am running from an ASUS wifi 6 mesh with the same speed (approx 250mbs) I've tried the Skys's DNS as well as several others, but the speed doesn't improve.

Re: Half speed

Update... it has just started hitting 500mbps! Maybe just a burn in issue.
