Green and Orange light on, at rear of router

Hi guys.

I'm not sure if I am at the right place or whether his question has been aswered many times.

But......

I am using a TP-Link AV600, plugged into the rear of my Sky SR203 router. I now realise that Im am not getting any signal from the link, and that I have one green light and one orange light where the link is plugged in at the rear of the SR203 router.

I am geussing the orange light should be green and that there is a reason wh its orange and maybe the cause of me not getting BB at the extender link.

This set up worked perfectly well on my previous SkyBroadband.

Its only now I have noticed the problem on my Fibre BB.

Any help would be appreciated.

One orange + one green is normal. They should be flashing to indicate activity.

Re: Green and Orange light on, at rear of router

Thank you for your reply. That puts the orang light problem to bed then.

Is there a way that the SR203 will not allow the TP-Link to connect to the router?

I have pressed the  WSP onthe router and then the wi-fi clone button on the extender.

I have also repressed the two pair buttons on th to extender units. All the lights light up as they should.

But I am getting no signal at the reciever.

Is there a setting in the router that may cause the problem?

Do I need to register the TP-link with the router in some way ?

I would try changing the ethernet mode to 'Fast' on the Sky hubs admin settings.

Again.Thnks for the reply.

But unfortunately I am not up with anything at all technical.

I have just been trying t get into the hub, via 192.168.0.1

But then, I have exhausted all avenues of names and passwords etc

Every tme I press enter. I am jus sent to the pevious screen.

Is there any  other way of getting to my hub ?

To access the hubs admin interface, make sure you are not using an Apple device, if an Apple device is your only option, don't use Safari, download a different browser.

Username: admin

Password: sky OR the default WiFi password printed on the hub

Re: Green and Orange light on, at rear of router

Again, thank you @jamesn123

At last I gained entry to the hub. I changed the ethernet setting to fast. But then found that this caused my wi-fi to drop from 150mbpsto 80mbps

This would have been acceptable if it had improved the signal at my exender But it didnt.

So I reset the ethernet to get back to the 150mbps that I am used too.

I am now wondering if the fault is with the TP-link that I am using? as I get 150mbps one side of our kithen door and only 20mbps the other side of the door, hence why we have an extender.

Will my old sky router SR102 work with Fibre BB? Then I can test whether the probem is the TP-Link or the router ?

@Garry121

Yes that will happen as changing that setting would limit the ports to 100mbps, one of which you get your 150mbps connection from. I just wanted to see if it brought your powerline adapter to life.

Using the SR102 both wont work and you wouldnt want to use it for a 150mbps FTTP connection.

You may want to consider removing the TP-Link powerline set from your setup and getting a Sky booster instead as it will integrate better.

Re: Green and Orange light on, at rear of router

Agreed. I'll take a look at a sky extender.

Think we can wrap this thread up now.

Thanks
