Got new sky hub but booster doesn’t seem to be working.

Installed new Sky Hub router on Saturday, getting poor coverage in parts of the house, we have a Sky booster which shows as connected with all lights green. On the app it says it's wired through Ethernet, but it isn't. Do I need to reset the booster?

Re: Got new sky hub but booster doesn’t seem to be working.

Which new hub did you get and do you have Sky Q?

If you received the White Max hub then the old White boosters will no longer work and you would need the max pods and Wifi Max add on.

However,  your booster could still show as connected with the middle light illuminated if you have  Sky Q hardware which has not been network reset and re meshed.

The booster could show as connected via Ethernet if there is a games console or other third party device plugged into the Ethernet port (not recommended as can cause Q mesh instability)

Thank you for your response, I do have the new white max WiFi hub and the old booster 4. How do I go about getting the pods?

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some  Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.
