Gigafast Activation

I ordered Sky Gigafast Broadband on 20th July 2025 and advised that it would be activated on the 5th September 2025 after Open Reach installed the cable from the street to my property and was charged by Sky for installation. I then received a further message from Sky that this would be changed to the 8th September and an engineer would fit a new box and activate the service on that day.

Additionally I have just received a hub which is identical to my existing Broadband one (Model SR203) which seem a bit pointless but still shows the activation date of 8th September 2025.

Open Reach have yet to carry out any work to install the fibre cable to my house and as far as I know they are not even working in my area.

I have been unable to get any sense out of the 'bot' messaging services or being able to contact Sky by any other means to advise them that the engineers visit booked for 8th September will be a waste of time.

If I now reschedule the engineers visit then the delay will be put down to me so I am proposing to let him just turn up and see if I can then get some action or clarification as to what is happening. Any advice?

I'd think that's the right thing to do, although unfortunately a Sky installer isn't going to have any insight into Openreach progress (or lack of it)
