Genuine?

A Sky rep offered me a new contract deal on a cold doorstep call. He had an ID badge and arrived in a Sky van. I have his badge name. How do I check this is  genuine?

If he was in a van with Sky livery he would no doubt be an engineer and although he can perhaps offer an add on at a certain price he'd have no authority to negotiate a new 24 month discounted deal.
