Full fibre issue

Just had full fibre installed , great or so I thought. Just realised my my landlines are not working. It appears any older phones no longer work no one told me that before that my phones would be useless. Can I get  a router adapts to still use the?

Re: Full fibre issue

@Michael+007 The phones will now plug into the back off the Sky Hub, and it takes possible 24-48hrs for the phone changeover to be effective and applied to the system. If you did not know the fact, did the Installation Engineer not say at the install, watch for you copper line to drop, when it does change the phone over and plug into the back off the sky Hub!

Sky and other ISPs don't have a separate adaptor: that's only a BT/EE thing.

A standard FTTP install will always cease the use of internal wired phone extensions, but unfortunately ISPs aren't great at informing their customers of this (it's typically somewhere in the small print)

Re: Full fibre issue

@Michael+007 Got nothing to do with sky, it's the same for every connection that goes from copper to fibre they are all the same! And the same if you were to change to another ISP on the same wire, takes each one to get it all running correct!

Sky Pay As You Talk

Description of services

Sky Pay As You Talk

Calls fall within the following time bands:

Daytime – Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm
Evening – Monday to Friday, after 7pm and before 7am
Weekend – All day Saturday and Sunday

Where your talk pack includes call during these times you will be able to make calls to inclusive UK landline and mobile numbers at no additional charge. Inclusive calls last up to an hour and then will be chargeable. You can hang up and redial as often as you like. Calls outside your allowances may be chargeable, for a full list of tariffs see www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-talk-tariff-guide

Most security alarms use your phone line. If you have one of these it is your responsibility to ensure it is compatible.

Our internet-based calls products use your Broadband connection, so you'll need to plug your phone into your Sky Hub to make calls. Any extension sockets in your home won't work. We need to let you know that if your broadband or power supply fails you won't be able to make any calls, including to the emergency services. Any alarms connected to your phone line or broadband service, like care or security alarms, won't work either.

While we don't provide minimum quality of service levels, we do monitor service internally and will work with you to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
