Full fibre installation

I ordered full fibre 150 yesterday and have been given a date of 02/05/25 for installation, i assumed the engineer would run the new fibre cable from the pole opposite the house and connect it through the wall to the router but i have heard from another resident that they had to wait for Openreach to run the Fibre cable before the Sky engineer connected this to the router inside

can anyone tell me if this is the normal situation for Fibre install or will the engineer booked for the 02/05 be able to do the whole job and run the cable on the day

many thanks for any help

@generater Have a look on the link below, you may have a one hit install, and OR Engineer can/will do it all at the same time, use your address check and just fill in the fields. Watch the video also.

Re: Full fibre installation

Openreach have to do the outside bit as they own that part of the network. This is usually done in advance of the authorised Sky installer who will be at your property on installation day.

@Nigelb1972 OR own it all up to and including the ONT, if sky install the ONT, they are doing so in behave of OR...

Re: Full fibre installation

Thanks guys

am i right in thinking then that OR will run the cable and connect it to the outside box and Sky will then connect from this to the inside

In the majority of cases, yes, but ISPs have an increasing number of their own personnel doing CSP to ONT work, and Sky has some ladder-trained staff (naturally) who have been certified by Openreach to carry out overhead CBT to ONT connections.

What ISPs don't do is anything underground or in cabinets.
