Full Fibre Uograde

Are sky doing full fibre upgrades to properties and what is involved, had a call stating they are phasing out copper cabling, at present my property is supplied via an old BT copper cable, so how is full fibre being installed?

Sky, like the majority of ISPs, doesn't install cabling: it uses either the national Openreach network or the less widespread CityFibre infrastructure.

If either of these has optical infrastructure in the area, an order can be placed with Sky.

Full-fibre is a new optical cable to the address (either underground or from a pole) and then a new length into the building, typically through a new hole.

There's an additional item of powered equipment (the Optical Network Terminal) required next to the ISP router.
