Full Fibre 500 Broadband
Hi, I upgraded about two weeks ago from Sky full Fibre 300 to 500.
Previously the app was always reporting speeds around 315 mb/s, since the upgrade my speeds seem to vary quite a lot.
I've dropped below the speed guarantee of 400 on some days but not more than two in a row, but speeds don't often get too 500 mb/s.
should I report this? I'm sure I saw a link somewhere to ask Sky to monitor the line, but can't find it in now. Any ideas 😊

@NickNewark Your service checker then broadband and the > to expand you will see the 30 day history off connection to the sky Hub that is recorded. This is what mine looked like on a FF500 connection when i had the sky SR203 on the connection, post 4 to see what it looks like.

The new changes below.
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR SKY SUBSCRIPTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All these changes come into effect on 1 April 2026. Please read these carefully and keep a copy of this notice for your records as you may need to refer to it in future.
Sky Broadband Terms and Conditions Update
Speed Guarantee: we are removing the money back aspect of this guarantee. If we are unable to provide your minimum guaranteed download speed, you will still be able to cancel your contract without paying early termination charges.
Wall-to-Wall Wi-Fi Guarantee: we are retiring this guarantee. You will still be able to rely on the Speed Guarantee or the Wi-Fi Max Guarantee as applicable to your subscription.
To make things clearer, we will be renaming the Enhanced Wall-to-Wall WiFi Guarantee that you get under Wi-Fi Max. In future it will be called the “Wi-Fi Max Guarantee”.

Re: Full Fibre 500 Broadband
@NickNewark it is unlikely Sky can do anything about the speed you are getting. Openreach GPON fibre operates with up to 30 connections sharing a downlink running at 2.48Gb/s so everyone can't get top speed at once if their local distribution point is near fully sold.
In practice apart from when running tests most people are only using a fraction of the bandwidth they buy but a peak times the total load can exceeds the capacity of the downlink. When Openreach switch from using GPON to XGSPON this should grt sorted assuming everyone doesnt then buy 5GB/s connections but don't hold your breath the first trial is only starting next month.
If the downstream speed as tested by Sky goes below 400Mb/s for 3 days continously Sky's speed guarantee clicks in see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-broadband-speed-guarantee

Re: Full Fibre 500 Broadband
Thanks for all the info, quite glad now I didn't bother upgrading to the next level up then,. It's all working fine, and it's definitely faster than it was. 😊 ironically this was a new contract for me, so I've ended up paying less than I was for FF300 and a speed boost too.
