What did Sky say when you told them this?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@jeremythegreat

The upgrade itself might have been free but there will be a monthly cost to pay as presumbly you did before ?

It's 'no extra cost' rather than 'free': broadband does inevitably have a monthly charge.  The terms of the upgrade are there's no installation fee and no change in the current monthly price for the remainder of any applicable minimum contract term.

Sky Broadband subscribers who aren't in a minimum term would start paying the 'full fibre' subscription rate immediately.
