Fiber installation to router in a cubby via long RJ11

Hi all.  Looking at getting full fiber installed but have concerns about compatibility with my current home layout.

Currently my regular line comes in at the floor near the living room window.  I'm then running a flat RJ11 from there, right around the perimeter of the room into a small electronics cubby at the opposite end of the room.  I really don't want to have to move furniture, pull the carpet up etc if I don't have to.

Would a fiber install mean the RJ11 has to be replaced with something else?

Thanks!

@cepheid.variable the connection from the new fibre ONT to the hub is by a standard Ethernet cable rather than the currdnt dsl cable. If you are planning to use the hub's wfi placing it in a "cubby" would seem not the best idea.

8 core twisted pair ethernet cable of Cat5e minimum*, with RJ45 plugs.

RJ11 is two or four core, typically parallel strands and the wrong pin configuration to carry ethernet traffic.

* Cat6 is fine: there's no benefit from Cat7 or Cat8 in domestic use.  Avoid non-Cat rated CCA (copper clad aluminium) cable.

Thanks for the info Chrisee.  Re the positioning concerns, it's been in the cubby for 3 years, no wifi issues.

2.4ghz for smart plugs etc, 5ghz for the tv and phones.

Cheers

Perhaps note that's not necessarily where a new optical circuit would land.
