Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ally25 increasingly we are seeing similar reports as I assume you are on a copper line which probably runs on poles? If I am right the issue is simply the ageing copper infrastructure is getting to the end of its life, water gets into the joints and unfortunately water and high frequency electrical signals dont mix that well. The solution is to replace the line which Openreach will not consider as the whole copper network is due to be decommissioned at some point in the next few years and replaced by full fibre. In the meantime the engineers test the line and perhaps tighten a joint.
There is effectively nothing Sky can do to force Openreach to make repairs.and in the end they will probably release you from contract but if you move to any other isp using the same line the problem moves with you. If you have access to another network like Virgin Media that would be a sensible move or if the mobile signal is good mobile broadband is a possibility. If you have deep pockets Starlink works hustling about anywhere.
