Extend Power Cable from SR203 Hub

Hiya guys. I'm trying to extend the power cable for the SR203, as the existing one is too short, my previous router had a figure 8 power lead and these are readily available in all sizes so no issue.

The MyVolts website had extension cables for the SR203 3 metres long, so I ordered one, all the reviews said it fit. It's 4mm x 1.7mm I believe, mine was too small, thinking they sent me the wrong cable they sent me one with a bigger fitting, which was too big, turns out the SR203 requires a 4.8mm x 1.7mm DC connector, but you can't buy these anywhere!

Whats frutrating me more is people are buying the MyVolts Premium Power Unit with 3m Extension specifically made for the SR203 and reviewing it as fitting perfectly, but it doesn't on mine! Have sky recently changed the connector on the router or something?

Sky havent changed the design so not sure whats going on there. Many people have come onto the forum asking about longer leads for Sky hubs but there isnt much we can advise as Sky dont officially provide them and any 3rd party ones you use are up to your discretion. Most people just go for an extension lead in the end.

I have exactly the same problem, ridiculously short 12 volt lead from the ugly transformer plug top. I ordered a 3 metre extension cable to extend the existing 12 volt supply from Switzerland, DigitalDave (myvolts) and it doesn't fit into the SR203 router.

I telephoned Sky technical and they were no practical assistance at all!

looks as though it's either a chop job, don't really want to go there, or having the ugly aforementioned plug top dangling on a roving extension socket on the wall! 

Surely someone must do the correct lead?????

The MyVolts extension doesn't work at all, it's the wrong fit, the only way to extend is buy the MyVolts Plug (Premium). It uses a completely different size plug, the extension fits this and other end fits the router, I'm using it now. No idea why people are saying the extension only works, it doesn't. You need the whole thing.

Managed to get a 90 cm extension cable on EBay from a company callled 

PUGZ2GO. It fits and has solved my problem.
