Edinburgh WiFi problems

Today alone my internet stopped working 4 times. I work from home sometimes and it's made the day so difficult. 
I've noticed that my internet drops and then there are some red or orange lights on the router. Sometimes the internet comes back after 10 or 15 minutes, or even as short as five minutes. But this is not useful when you're on a teams call and get totally disconnected.

Are other people in Edinburgh having problems with their Sky WiFi? What is the issue? And do Sky know that this is happening in Edinburgh?

If you haven’t done it yet use this link to check to see if there are any broadband problems or outages nearby.

This should determine if there's an identified fault, perhaps affecting multiple households. (Remember it doesn’t necessarily disclose a problem instantly and it takes a little while to update).

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

Once completed, if it reports back that all is good click on 'broadband' to run an updated test. If you get amber or red you need to follow the on-screen instructions.

If you’re still having problems you may need to contact Sky to report it. The easiest way is to dial 150 free from your Sky Talk landline if it’s still working.

Sky broadband being discussed here is a domestic service and whilst it's fine for those customers working from home to use it, they won't receive additional or quicker support.

On any particular day the vast majority of broadband faults are in the individual Openreach circuit to a particular address, mostly because that's either a legacy copper pair or a very thin strand of glass...
