Downloading programmes onto Sky is taking forever.
Downloading programmes onto our Sky box is taking forever. Also streaming on Prime is very low quality and constantly buffering. This started yesterday out of the blue. Nothing had changed. Tried switching everything on and off and has made no difference

Re: Downloading programmes onto Sky is taking forever.
@Mark887 assume you are talking about Sky Q boxes. There is a useful network test in the Netflix app's GetvHelp menu which will tell you the speed your box is connected at if thst falls below 20Mb/s you may hit issues. Check that anything has changed like another Q box or a boister has been unplugged as the system often uses thoosexas relays for a more distant unit. Also comsider if a move of furniture or simikar might be blocking the signal. A common issue is placing Q minis behind a TV which looks neat but plays havoc with WiFi signal.
If really stuck call Sky as they should ssend an engineer out.

Re: Downloading programmes onto Sky is taking forever.
Thank you Chrisee. Yes it is a Q box system and we have Full Fibre Gigafast which is the top speed available in our area through Sky.
All seems back to normal this morning but mystified over what happened. I was constantly checking the system on My Sky app yesterday and it was saying everything was perfect and running as it should, when clearly it was not. Very frustrating on a Saturday at home as you can imagine.
Your suggestion of using the Netflix app to check speed is really useful. This morning it is 47.49 mbs which I assume is as it should be.
Many thanks again
Mark

That speed is more than adequate via wifi although stability is more important. The Q box, like your TV itself, has a 100Mbps chip as more is just not needed.
