Downgrading Wifi Max to original service (black 4.2 router) however Sky cannot send me a replacement

I've downgraded from sky wifi max service (with the white router), to standard wifi router, within the cooling off period, however because I sent my old black 4.2 hub back after being hassled via sms to do so,  it seems to be impossible for sky to send me one out, what a fiasco!!!

I spend over 1 hour yesterday being passed from pillar to post, 1 spoke to 2 agents in india, and 1 in south africa all saying they are going to sort out my request but non have.

In the end they have arranged for an engineer visit but I dont hold out much hope of either 1) turning up at all, or 2) having an old router with them.

I can't wait until I'm out of contract as its the worst customer experience I have ever had!!!!

@Phil1330 You will find that the sky Broadband Hub and the sky Broadand Booster, SR203/SE210 are the Q mesh system compatable devices from the same era and ilk, the sky Max has to be treated way different, even down to dropping it back to WPA2-PSK from it's standard WPA3-T default, nothing that you can do with the auto channel on the 5Ghz band, and Ethernet connection to the Max/Q combo may work but that's a try and see!

@Phil1330 you can repkacectge Sky hub with a third party router if you want or if it is just an issue eith WiFi performancexsimply turn off the Sky hub's wifi and usexa thirdparty wifi system. You can even oick up used SR203 routers online - it shouldn't be possible as they are all loan units but they should work if you bought one. Thst doesnt apply to the newer white SR213 hubs which requite mstching to the account.

No, you've chosen to remove the WiFi Max subscription supplement from the account.  The white Max Hub is still standard hardware on FTTP circuits, and as you've discovered Sky doesn't have a logistics pathway to swap one out for an older  model: unfortunately that's the kind of thing which process designers rarely anticipate the need to facilitate.

@Phil1330 Not much hope off you getting what you need done, the flea site may be the only option to you, also see Amazon if you wish just search SR203 to find, but be carefull to get the correct one!

I tried using my previously trusted  BT meshed whole home wifi which was great, but when i started using Sky Q boxs they keep dropping out,  and after spending countless hours segregating the network, playing with different setting on the 2.4 & 5gig network and also port numbers etc I moved to the standard sky router, which fixed all the Sky Q problems, so unless I can find a new router that the Sky Q boxes like I'll prefer to swap back to the older box
