Do I need broadband!please help!
Hi I live alone and am a senior citizen who has a contract up for renewal end of Nov.However Im playing £70 per month for sky talk/broadband,I don't have a device that needs internet just my grandkids that come over now and again.I watch International channels only so am already subscribed to their Sky Signature.Just wondering if i can reduce my cost somewhere, sky said they can take my broadband down to £32 but still a lot to pay.i was thinking of cancelling broadband but then it means gettingrid of landline or i was thinking to get rid of the Skytv package and getting a Firestick but I dont have enough knowledge of them.please helpppp!!!!

The main thing to know there is that any Firestlck bundle which claims to offer Sky channels is illegal.

...... @Amarjit4...... "... I watch International channels only so am already subscribed to their Sky Signature....."
Can you kindly share the name(s) of some of the channels you watch? You might be able to watch them legally for cheaper or free without a Sky subscription using another platform

Firesticks don't receive broadcast content at all: for any channel to be visible it must have its own streaming service, typically either in its own app, on YouTube or as a sub-channel in something like Prime Video.

Re: Do I need broadband!please help!
The channels are
PTC/sikh channel/Akaal/PBC/star plus/ustaav bharat/ustaav plus hd/sony
I looked at Yopp but they only do one of the ones Ive stated above!
Long story short my mums package is the one Im posting about. It seems daft that shes paying £70 a month, she lives alone/hardly watches tv and apart from her mobile has no other devices. When I searched her apps(through her smart tv) none of those channels were present. However she said it will probably be confusing for her to alter things as she will have to adapt to the new way so do I bother changing anything? If i cut broadband that impacts wifi and landline (which she still gets people call on) if i cut the tv package then id have to search for alternative providers to get the channels she watches.aaarghhh!!!

Re: Do I need broadband!please help!
@Amarjit4 It should be noted if you use a firestick or any legal streaming service you will need broadband, which is what you asked about originally.

Re: Do I need broadband!please help!
@Amarjit4 thanks for sharing the channels your mother watches. From my initial search it seems they are available via Sky and Virgin Media. There is a discussion about a number of the channels you shared here
I am going to look on my TV which has a Freesat tuner to see if I could tune them in there.
I assume it is Sky HD+ that your mother uses and I would have thought that there is a cheaper plan, to get just those channels. She will have to call Sky to see if the prices can be lowered.
