Re: Disabling remote management on a Sky Q Broadband Hub

Im a full-stack developer who has programmed in alot of programming languages, for it to work like that there actually has to be more coding, the logic is basically: if(client.IP == server.IP){ return allow}else{ return refuse} that logically takes more coding, so i thought they wouldnt of set that up. it would just be "return refuse". That was my reasoning. my bad for not testing.

Re: Disabling remote management on a Sky Q Broadband Hub

To recap:

Sky Broadband hub refuses remote connections to the web ui by default.

You can add a firewall rule on top of it to make absolutely sure.

This blocks connection attempts to port 80 on your local area network's router usually (192.168.0.1) from external networks requesting resources from your network over both IPv6 and IPv4. If you, a local network user, are making requests to your own public ip address, it will bypass the firewall and remote management firewall sky provides by default.

Did this answer not help you?
