Difference between router sr203 and 204
I've just upgraded to fibre 300 and been sent a new sr203 which looks identical to the se204 I already have
are they both 4.2 routers?
do I need to change to the new router to benefit from the expected faster speeds. So far my speeds have dropped since I upgraded
i don't want to change the router unless I have to because I have do many devices linked to my current router but will if I have to use the sr203 to get faster speeds

Re: Difference between router sr203 and 204
@Steve+Clare The SR204 has a G.Fast dsl modem where the SR203 is a VDSL2 modem section and in theory that is the difference, going to a FF 300 connection you are moving off the DSL connection and onto the WAN Port4 for the new FF300 connected to the ONT.
It would appear that sky are requesting your SR204 returned so would do that, but if you web manage to the SR204 on 192.168.0.1 you should be able to go backup the hub to a file on a PC/Laptop, then restore that file to the SR203, good chance that it will all work, change the ssid password and keep everything working on the changeover one to the other! Certainly worth a go doing it!
Your speed should not drop going on a FF300 speed connection, but you will also be able to see using the web interface in the status screen what the modem has for the Up/Down sync speed applied to your profile!

Re: Difference between router sr203 and 204
Thank you Jim.
i'm a technophobe so not really understanding the difference between the two models.
Which of the sr203 or 204 should work best with fibre 300 if I'm leaving a dsl to a wan connection?
Before upgrading to FF300 I was getting 150 mb/s, I'm now getting 90 so whatever they've done isn't working properly and Zi'm trying to establish if it's anything to do with the router

Re: Difference between router sr203 and 204
@Steve+Clare the two models should be identical when connnected to. Your new Full Fibre connection. The difference is the modem stage which is only used when connected to a partial fibre service. Sky will expect a hub to be returned but I doubt they will worry about which one you send bsck.
However you could simply change the WiFi Name (SSID) and password on the new hub to match the old one by following the instructions here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/find-and-change-your-wireless-password then simply change the two hubs over? Your devices should then connect to the new hub without issue?
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: Difference between router sr203 and 204
@Steve+Clare Go to the service checker and then click on the broadband, you should be able to see the package sky have you on and the daily speed check they see when looking at the hub, last 30 day's are recorded, so you would have the 150 jump to the 300 when the upgrade was applied! Your package should say Sky Full Fibre 300 if correct on that screen! After that 192.168.0.1 to get to the hub and the Maintenance / Router Status Modem should have the figures 329 900 and 50 000 for the down/up speeds!
