As in the title I've been getting bad experience whilst gaming online for a while now, it's not speed up lag as such it's more the inputs are very slow and gameplay feels out of sync, I can feel it in all games but fifa is the worst by far, ive been a gamer over 20 year and never felt anything like this, it's hard to describe the issue but as a gamer you can feel and see it's not right, game speeds will be out of sync, inputs will be slower to react, the gameplay is so muddy and clunky like there's just something not right with the game engine and what I'm seeing on my monitor, I've even tried to contact EA but everytime they basically say the same thing and that's to contact my isp, I'm not looking to blame anyone I just want to get a fix so I can play like I did before this started, the information I found which matches my issue is something called 'desync' https://www.wepc.com/news/madden-22-desync-fix/ at this stage though I've tried everything possible and wasted so much money I don't know what else to do apart from giving up, I feel like I could either be a problem with fifas servers or a localisation issue with how I'm receiving game packets, I'm not hoping for much here just I don't know what else to try

I don't play Fifa or many online games, but I play another football game called "eFootball 2023". On that game, I've noticed what looks like lag as well. It's not the obvious kind of lag where everything freezes and then catches up. It's a different kind of lag.
I can only describe it as heavy gameplay. It feels as if the game is running heavy. It's as if there's some invisible force present that's making all players move like they have some intense weight on them. Passes are off. Players act strangly. Oppostion team seems to be moving much quicker. It's an odd type of lag that I haven't been able to troubleshoot.
I watch the game play on Twitch and it plays a lot differently. It looks much faster, less heavy and overall better. It's what's making me believe the issue is on my end.
I connect via Ethernet and the Internet itself is very stable. It doesn't drop out or disconnect. I can stream videos fine. Pages load quickly. Speed tests return the expected speeds. It's not making any sense to me.
The only thing I have noticed is there seems to be some small ping spikes when I ping something like 8.8.8.8. The ping spikes are regular, but small (e.g. 5, 5, 5, 6, 5, 12, 5, 6, 6, 6, 5, 11, 5, 6, 5, 6, 6, 21 and so on). I don't think those spikes are large enough to cause problems.
It's happening on both my laptop and desktop, so that rules out PC-specific issues. Both devices connect via Ethernet.

This is exactly my situation! Exactly as you describe, I have swapped over from ps5 to Xbox and still the same

I'm having this exact same issue in the East Manchester Area. After updating all of my graphic drivers, and rebooting Router and system, the issue persists. I ran a speed test and my download is around 60mbs, but my upload is 0mbs. I think this is the cause of the issue. I just hope it gets sorted before weekend league! haha. @Jamiesc93

There must be some weird issue. It's been affecting me for quite some time now and I've just had to deal with it because I don't have enough info at my disposal to see what's going on. I don't know about Fifa, but eFootball doesn't even bother giving you ping information so I can't see if it's spiking during games.
One thing I noticed on eFootball is the lag seemingly gets worse as the match progresses. I'll notice the lag as soon as the match starts, I can just see it get worse as the match goes on. The heaviness just seems to worsen.
It is very frustrating and difficult to play that game because of it.

EA Games blaming everyone else but themselves is also a common theme but you often find similar posts in the other ISPs support forums.

It's very frustrating mate, but I've had it all year round, got a lot worse when we were in lockdown not sure if that was just a coincidence, unfortunately fifa is the only game I really enjoy playing but I've tried everything to fix it, it's that bad it's literally unplayable it's like all my players are on ice skates, no traction, and all my opponents can read everything I do as if they've seen it before I performed it, it's bizzare but I can't describe it anymore it's like I'm on a different version of the game to everyone else

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jamiesc93 nothing in your stats suggests a connection fault it looks like you are on a 55Mb/s connection rather than the full fat 80Mb/s but actually that could just becdown to line length.
You can minimise delay caused by your home network by using ethernet cabling rather than wifi which oten introduces jitter. Beyond that if you share the connection with other users replacing the Sky hub with a purpose designed gaming routercwhich ppriortises gaming traffic can help but is pricy.
You can run the normal tests - ping and tracecroute - to check if the routing to the server is introducing delay which I would expect to be unlikely. For your own peace of mind why not set up a Broadband Quality Monitor see https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality.
There is no magic router setting you can change thst will make thecgame play smoothly.

Sky internet is garbage. Can't wait to get YouFibre up and running. I've complained to sky numerous times to sort out high ping and severe packet loss issues but never had any luck. They have no idea when it comes to gaming online. My advice get rid.

Did you ever get a fix or find some kind of reason for this as I have been dealing with this for a while now
