DTMF issues

Hi, I am unable to use any services that need dtmf (eg. 'Press 1 for sales, 2 for billing or 3 to go directly to hold music'!). I am on sky superfast broadband and am unable to determine if I have internet calling or not (the voice light on my hub has never been on - but I have no issues making or receiving calls). The phone that I am using is a panasonic that supports DTMF. Do I need to buy a new phone or is this an issue with either my hub or my line? Any help would be much appreciated as i cannot find any solution anywhere on the web or community boards to my problem!!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Is the handset cord plugged into the rear of the Sky Hub, or a socket on a wall box?

The former is internet calls, the latter is PSTN.

That means you aren't currently using internet calling, and your handset is connected to the national analogue phone network.  Tones should work: if they don't then the issue may be with the handset or the PSTN 'line' but cannot be related to broadband or the Sky Hub.

Re: DTMF issues

I'm having exactly the same problem, only my phone is plugged into a Sky router linked to the full fibre network.  I've just bought a new set of BT handsets in case it was the old Panasoic handsets but the problem still persists. The problem does not happen every time but happens regularly. Help please, it's a nightmare!

Re: DTMF issues

@AlanH2012 When it happens, try first a reset by powering off the phones, if that does not work power off then on the router to see if that works and clears the fault.
