Crap internet all the time.

Hi been with sky over 15 years and my internet is shocking and always has been and your defence is im far away from the main box, but I pay for superfast which I don't receive, every evening I can't watch netflix or use my phone properly because my Internet is so crap and in sick of it, I asked when I can cancel and it's not until April 2025 so months of crap internet ahead, every time I do I test it says nothing is wrong but clearly there is an issue and I'm tired of sky fobbing me off.

@Oxborough you are notvtalking to Sky by posting in the forum but unfortunstely Sky are not "fobbing you off" but telling you the truth. Speeds that a copper phone line can provide depends on the length of thst line to the czbinet. If you would like independent advice post your Sky hub's connection stats see Find your Sky Broadband router statistics

Things change when your home has a full fibre connection as those deliver the speed you buy. However Sky have no control overcwhen Openreach will run fibre to your home.

Re: Crap internet all the time.

I have exactly the same issue.

I am nearly at the end of my contract and I won't be renewing. I don't think they will care much but I have found better providers in my area who are also cheaper. I can't say I'll miss the channels either, most of them are repeats and you can watch them on other streaming services.

Yes it is rubbish and does not reach the minimum guaranteed speed.

'Superfast' is a marketing name, defined by Ofcom as a technology with a theoretical potential to deliver over 30Mbs subject to the reality imposed by fundamental physics as demonstrated in the graph above.

@unz thank you for testing the forum's swear filter as you can see it works well.

Not sure who you mean by "They" but if you mean Sky you are wrong sky's connection are not limited by the bandwidth of Sky's network. However the laws of physics limit.the bandwidth of parial fibre connections the longer the line the slower the service. Sky are by no means perfect but their core network is not limiting your speeds.

Full fibre is different but has its own technical limitations.

Re: **bleep** internet all the time.

Why oh why am i being ripped off by SKY when it suposedly only 20ft away underground.I even have  to pay £4 extra every month  to get a WHITE router taking my sport package with disney and a WHITE router to £111+ per month and there is not even ANY telephone package in that amount just more expense for using a landline number or even a phone line checker to see who called . And THIS for being with SKY nearly 6 months short of 15 years . I Bit the bullet and made up a gaming rig pc with a AORUS wi-fi 7 motherboard and tons of 32 meg ddr 5 ,a 4090 with 16 gig of mem ,A.M.D Ryzen 7 9700x 8-core processor. so i would love to have ANY FREE WAYS SKY CAN MAKE THERE SERVICE BETTER,PLEASE.

@BigBadTony Why do you think you're being "ripped off"?

If you believe Sky no longer provide you with value for money, you're always free to take your custom elsewhere!

It's unclear what you are complaining about.

The default bundled voice service undoubtedly has an unpleasant price per minute and then various optional extra cost inclusive calls add-ons, but that's the same for the other Openreach ISPs.

@molly1231

Try running this line test to see if it finds any faults:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.
