Speeds that a copper phone line can provide depends on the length of thst line to the czbinet. Things change when your home has a full fibre connection as those deliver the speed you buy. However Sky have no control overcwhen Openreach will run fibre to your home.

I have exactly the same issue.
I am nearly at the end of my contract and I won't be renewing. I don't think they will care much but I have found better providers in my area who are also cheaper. I can't say I'll miss the channels either, most of them are repeats and you can watch them on other streaming services.
