Connection type is "MER" despite being FTTP.

Hi all, In the market for a new router however I came across a post mentioning that a MER connection type means FTTC and needs a modem router.

I have an Openreach ONT but my router says:

Broadband Port

Network Type MER

If I go into "Connection Status" it does say:

Negotiation WANOE

Is that right?  It's a Sky SR203 router.

That is correct the authentication is MER/client identifier option 61 whilst the physical connection is Wanoe or wan over the ethernet

Thanks @cookiemonsteruk I think you helped me the other day.  So I still only need the RT version of the Asus not the DSL modem version?

Sorry to ask, this is all fairly new to me so want to be 100%.
