Connecting a mini box in separate annex.
Hi. We're going to move house soon, and at the moment we have Sky Broaband, a Sky Q box in main room, a sky mini in the bedroom and another for our parents who live with us (in an annexe, in the same house). When we move we would like the same set up, but our parents will be living at the same address but in a seperate, detached annexe. It'll be approx 20m from the main building but 35m from where we think the Fibre access point will be.
Will wifi work (with booster/repeater) or will we need to use a Cat 5/6 cable connected to the router?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Connecting a mini box in separate annex.
Ethernet would almost certainly be preferable, particularly to supply additional bandwidth for other use as well as the Mini box viewing.

Thanks for your reply @TimmyBGood.
Do you hapen to know the maximum distance is that I can use an Ethernet cable? and would it be Cat 5 or 6? we're able to get 900MB/s Full fibre.
Cheers..

Re: Connecting a mini box in separate annex.
100 metres is the limit for ethernet of any Cat rating. A bit shorter is safer.
You might as well put in Cat 6 if you can find that in an external grade (PVC sheathed) otherwise Cat 5e is adequate.
