Hello
I am wanting to claim back money for low broadband speed from the start of the month. We had half the speed we should have got for around 7 days. Have tried to call, but get fed up of waiting

My internet has been around 20mb slower since my contract ran out. Sheer coincidence I know.... but once out of contract they won't guarantee speeds. I'm waiting to see who can provide full fibre to my address before I sign up to any supplier so this isn't very fair.

Find out more@EkO If your contract had ran out then you wouldn't have a service, call Sky and tell them to sort out your slower speeds as you are still in contract albeit a rolling monthly contract and im pretty sure tehy still have a duty to provide the same level of service regardless of you not being in a minimum term period.

I read somewhere that they only monitor and maximise your speed if you are in contract. I found other posts elsewhere from other Sky customers out of contract and they were having the exact same problem. Mine has gone from a constant 70mb to sub 50mb. Seems it's my fault for being out of contract and paying them more every month.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@EkO Please can you post your router stats so the forum can advise on any issues. This link explains how to do that https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#
Sky would not delibirately lower speeds for people outside a minimum term, Ofcom would be a tad annoyed if they did,
If you quote your source, as long as it's not facebook as we all know what thats like for high quality information.

The posts I found were on this forum, other customers that their contracts had run out. I think Sky word it more as "We can't guarantee your speeds when out of contract" as opposed to saying they'll slow you down.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@EkO looking at your stats your hub is connecting as fast as your line can suppport at 57Mb/s as the noise margin is 3.1dB which is around as low you can get. The connection looks stable as it has been up for nearly 300 hours. On a device connected by ethernet with nothing else running you should see speed tests around 48Mb/s.
However you have two indicators of issues within your home network the first is 1216 collisions on your 2.4GHz network and the fact that the 5GHz is turned off which if you intend to use the router's WiFi is not a good idea because as well as being faster is less affected by interference. If you explain your network set up forum members maybe able to help.
Regarding the idea Sky reduce speeds for customers

Thank you for getting back to me on this, I personally don't use the wifi so I'm not that concerned.
The fact is, that since I moved in here around 16 years ago, the speed has always sat round 70mb and since my contract ended it dropped to its current speed.
