Chester Area Internet drops

This past week I have had Internet issues. Out of nowhere the Internet just drops and sometimes in a couple of minutes it's back. Had this issue almost every day for a week now. Tonight it doesn't seem to be coming back yet the diagnostic check keeps saying there are no issues. I need someone to look into this. Thanks

I just don't understand why the diagnostic check says everything is fine when it's clearly not. 🙄

Re: Chester Area Internet drops

Same issue, we're just south of Chester and no broadband for about an hour now. Status checker however shows us having no problems at all, which begs the question, what status is it checking exactly?

Down since 1am in CH1.

Completely unplugged my router earlier and the service checker was still insistent that my connection and router is up. It never gives correct information and should not be relied upon.

Re: Chester Area Internet drops

I'm so glad I'm leaving them. This is just ridiculous. As I said earlier, today is not the first time it happened. It happened almost every day for at least a week now. Also there is no option to even report the issue or at least I couldn't find it anywhere, just the same testing option which obviously leads nowhere with useless and untrue statements about everything being fine.

Loss of connection between midnight and 5am is often down to essential maintenance on the network. If that is the cause your service will be back up in the morning.

When there are issues between midnight and 7am it's quite possibly going to be essential overnight maintenance taking place which is carried out then to minimise disruption as most customers are asleep.

If your broadband isn’t working after 0700 and you haven’t done it yet use this link to check to see if there are any broadband problems or outages nearby.
https://www.sky.com/servicechecker
This should determine if there's an identified fault, perhaps affecting multiple households.

If there aren't any then try running the line test here
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start
You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

Once completed, if it reports back that all is good click on 'broadband' to run an updated test. If you get amber or red you need to follow the on-screen instructions.

If you’re still having problems you may need to call Sky to report it. The easiest way is to dial 150 free from your Sky Talk landline if it’s still working.

This link providers information about the coloured lights on the various hubs

For customers working from home please remember that Sky Broadband is a domestic service so you won’t receive any quicker or extra support.
